 Low Cost
Single and dual step stripping can be done with this inexpensive hand tool. The kit includes specialized cable pliers (for slug removal), cable entry caps for 0.047 inch (1.194mm), 0.086 inch (2.184mm), and 0.141 inch (3.66mm) cables, 1 ea. standard cutting blade, and 1 ea. 0.050 inch (1.27mm) hex Allen wrench.
Cable Size Range
Special cable entry caps are available for almost any size cable up to 0.141 inch (3.66mm). The body of the tool and the caps are 0.75 inch (19.05mm) in diameter.
Operation
The outer conductor is scored with two turns of the tool. After the scored jacket is removed the dielectric is trimmed. Step sizes can be from zero (flush) to the step length desired. This tool is most commonly used for lab work where automated tools are typically not available and where only small volume work is required.
Blade Replacement
Remove the 2 face screws and lift off the cable entry cap. Replace the blade by lifting the old one off and placing the new blade in its place. If a flush cut is desired make sure that the tapered side of the flush cut chisel blade faces into the tool. Replace the cap and retighten the screws.
